Peek a Boo Microgaming Slot

Peek a Boo landed on our screens as part of a dual release with Microgaming’s Lucky Twins. We’ve already covered that game here on the site and it is fair to say we were a little underwhelmed, especially in the absence of any bonus features at all. However, if you were waiting for something new and exciting then you’ll be pleased to know that Peek a Boo boasts more than enough features for both games put together! It’s perhaps not the timeliest of new releases, given that a combination of ghosts and sweets seems more like a Halloween game to us, but when the features are as good as they are here, we can certainly give it a pass!

Forty Lines and Stacked Wilds

The game certainly starts off as it means to go on. Lucky Twins’ nine lines are a distant memory as this game has an extended board and forty win lines to match. We don’t mind the inclusion of the sweet symbols either as it means a break from the playing card icons! The game’s logo is a wild card and it can come along in stacks, covering an entire reel or even more than one at the same time, and usually bringing plenty of symbols into play for decent wins.

The Ghost Meter and Free Spins

We always enjoy it when a game breaks from the norm a little and Peek a Boo pulls that off with the manner in which players can trigger free games. Rather than being on the lookout for scatters, players will instead be keeping an eye on the third reel for the ghost hunter. When he lands, he’ll zap a maximum of one ghost from every reel on the board, which will then be whisked off to the meter on the right hand side of the screen. When the meter is full, the free spins will begin, with the number of spins dictated by the total number of ghosts, up to a maximum of thirteen.

The fun additions don’t end there either as this is not your run of the mill free spins bonus game. The forty win lines are replaced with an all pays system on the same board, making for a total of 1,024 ways to win on the free spins. The bonus round also introduces the Symbol Win feature, which offers additional opportunities to pick up health returns. If a three of a kind win lands, reels four and five will spin once again in an effort to improve the outcome, and the same applies to four of a kind, with the fifth reel also spinning once more with the same intentions. The stacked wilds also land on free spins too and that’s always a good thing when all adjacent symbols are making for pay outs.

With all due respect to Lucky Twins, Peek a Boo is clearly the star of this batch of releases and the simply graphics actually disguise what is one of our new Microgaming favourites. The game has definitely entered “must play” territory and you can do exactly that with no deposit or download here on the site.
