Drive – Multiplier Mayhem Slot

When it comes to the hype train in slots gaming, especially those coming from NetEnt, all of the publicity seemed to be focused on the new Guns n’ Roses slot and, in all fairness, that was thoroughly deserved. Consequently, Drive – Multiplier Mayhem was largely ignored by many, although we wouldn’t rank ourselves among that number. The preview video of a few months ago really caught our eye as it seemed that the developer had outdone itself once again when it comes to graphics, to the point that Drive looks like it could be the official slot game of the Fast and Furious series and Need for Speed at the same time! Having now got our hands on the game itself and had the chance to play it, we’re pleased to kick off the review by saying that this title is much more than just a pretty face!

Drive Gameplay

As advanced as new slot releases from NetEnt often are, the developer generally prefers to stick with accessibility when it comes to the base gameplay. Guns n’ Roses caught us off guard with just twenty win lines and this game reduces that number even further, down to fifteen fixed lines in total. That keeps things nice and easy and all of the usual suspects are in play on the board by way of symbols, with the rev meter serving as the wild card – and it is far more impressive than players may initially expect.

Multiplier Wilds

Any game that appends the subtitle of Multiplier Mayhem had better make the most of the name and Drive delivers thanks to the multiplier wilds. They can appear at any time during both free spins and the base game and are essentially the main wild cards on the game. The difference between these and other wilds is that they come complete with a multiplier that matches up to the reel. For example, wild card on the first reel doesn’t come with a multiplier, but a wild on the second reel will double the prize and so on, up to a five times boost on the last reel. The very best part about these wilds is that not only do they multiply prizes, but also boost each other. A contributing wild on reels two and three, for example, will multiply the overall prize by six times in total.

Drive – Multiplier Mayhem Free Spins

The multiplier wilds are great, but the most outstanding feature as far as we’re concerned is the free spins bonus round. A scatter on each of reels two, three and four at the same time will trigger ten spins, where the nitro symbol is also added to the board. These symbols are collected when they land, and can see players rising through the ranks to take on the starring characters in races. Winning these races will award further spins and more fixed wilds, culminating with the fourth and final race against Bruiser which will see three wilds added to the board.

Drive – Multiplier Mayhem is well worth checking out by any player on the strength of the visuals alone and we’d definitely recommend giving it a spin even if it’s only to see the races play out. Everything else is typically solid and the multiplier wilds are a fun addition to a reasonably standard game. We certainly recommend what this title has to offer in general and you can play it with no deposit or download, right here on this page.
