Jungle Jim – El Dorado by Microgaming
Microgaming has been on a bit of a cold streak in 2016, with the quality of their new releases suffering somewhat as they look to continue the trend of having a new release up their sleeve at least once a month. When we got our hands on Jungle Jim – El Dorado at first, we thought to ourselves that it might be another copy of a previous release, as we were sure that we had heard of Jungle Jim before. He actually made an appearance on a much older game from the company and one that some casinos don’t even carry any more, so we can at least consider this one to be brand new. With that in mind, let’s see if Microgaming’s fortunes have turned around on this one!
Impressive 3D Visuals
We cannot be sure whether Microgaming has been paying close attention to BetSoft, NetEnt or a mix of both when putting together this release, but regardless of the reasoning behind it, it has led to the creation of a very good looking game. The visuals are basically 3D, running from Jungle Jim himself on the side of the board to some great looking themed treasure symbols.
Rolling Reels with Consecutive Win Multipliers
The gameplay is easy enough to get your head around to start with, as the action takes place over 25 win lines with the standard Microgaming selection of coin bets available to place on each. However, the moment that your first win lands, you’ll see that this title is part of a growing selection of games to incorporate Microgaming’s rolling reels, which you may know better as avalanche or collapsing reels. No matter how you’ve heard of them, the winning symbols will explode, disappearing from the board in the process. The multiplier meter at the top of the screen will increase by one and more symbols fall into place. Land another win in this manner and you’ll pick up the multiplied win and it will increase even further and so on, with any consecutive win following four or more previous prizes being boosted an impressive five times over. The wild that is on hand to help these wins along is unsurprisingly the Jungle Jim logo, which comes around regularly to hopefully keep the consecutive wins coming!
Free Spins with Jungle Jim
Rather than relying on a certain number of wins, the free spins on Jungle Jim – El Dorado are handled in the traditional manner, with players looking to land three or more scatters at the same time. Doing so will trigger ten free games, and you can hit them over and over within the round itself simply by landing yourself another set of three or more. All wins are boosted by at least three times, as this is where the multiplier meter starts in the bonus round, and it will then grow to six, nine, twelve or even fifteen times and the consecutive wins start to stack up.
There can be no question that Jungle Jim – El Dorado is by no means the most original game around, and we don’t just mean because the character has already appeared in a previous title. If you’re as much of a fan of the likes of BetSoft and NetEnt as we are then you’ll quickly see the similarities between this game and the likes of Gonzo’s Quest. If it takes imitating a competitor to get things back on track for Microgaming then we’ll certainly allow it, and would definitely suggest checking this title out instantly and with no deposit by playing right here at Games Mania!
