The latest of these releases is Win Sum Dim Sum and it becomes increasingly clear that the developer is angling for Aristocrat’s crown as the leading developer for Oriental themed games. Indeed, with the likes of Dragon Dance, Lucky Twins and Wild Orient already being among the 2016 schedule, we’d dare say that the company is targeting a particular market with these releases – although we could be completely wrong!
This game is a proper throwback in a number of ways, with what we would consider to be somewhat dated graphics packing a board with just nine win lines. Four higher value themed icons are joined by the traditional playing card symbols on the main board and the Win Sum Dim Sum logo is the game’s wild card, which can fill in for anything other than the teapot. If that wild card lands in any position on the third reel during the base game, it will expand if it can contribute to additional wins. During the bonus round, this ability also extends to the second and fourth reels too.
Win Sum Dim Sum Free Spins
Virtually every Microgaming release of 2016 so far has featured free spins as the main bonus action so it is unsurprising to see this streak continuing here on this game. Three or more teapot scatters in view at any point will see fifteen free spins being awarded, with the same combination of scatters within the round itself leading to the same results. There is no multiplier during this bonus, but players can continue to make use of the expanding wilds as noted above.
We’re still waiting with baited breath for Microgaming to get back on form when it comes to their online releases. Win Sum Dim Sum is by no means a bad game, but we can’t exactly see it sweeping the board at the 2016 industry awards either!
