Pretty Kitty by Microgaming
When we first laid eyes on Pretty Kitty, one of our first thoughts was that we should get IGT on the phone to find out exactly why they had sold the rights to Kitty Glitter to Microgaming. While not identical by any stretch, we cannot help but assume that Pretty Kitty was inspired at least in part by IGT’s title. Fortunately, that game has proven to be a robust choice over several years and a homage to the game from Microgaming is not necessarily a bad thing.
The visuals are certainly passable although whether the kitties are as pretty as stated could be up for debate. The lower value symbols are filled in by gems and jewels and players will be able to benefit from the various prizes on offer on a regular basis thanks to the fact that Microgaming has opted to take Pretty Kitty back to the 243 ways to win configuration.
Pretty Kitty Expanding Symbols
Just as with some of Microgaming’s other most recent releases, the opportunities to make the most of the game begin within the base game itself, as both the cats and the wild card, represented by the Pretty Kitty logo, can appear in stacks. If a full stack of cats appears on the first reel, then all other matching cats across the board will follow that lead and expand, covering their own reel in the process. Features like this are always pleasant to see on games with so many ways to win, so you definitely won’t find us complaining in that regard!
Free Spins
The baseline gems and jewels may not be all that valuable, but the kitty collar that has been adorned with diamonds is every bit as valuable as players would assume. Specifically, landing three or more of them at the same time on one spin will trigger the free spins bonus round, with fifteen spins being awarded as standard. The cats can continue to land in stacks on the first reel, but a boon of the bonus round is the fact that the same can be said of wild cards. Like their feline counterparts in the base game, landing a full stack of wilds will cause every other wild on the board to expand too, ensuring that these free games are noticeably more valuable than those found in the base game. Players are not limited to just the original fifteen spins either, as it is possible to land more free games simply by hitting another batch of three or more scatters at the same time.
Pretty Kitty is by no means the most innovative gaming release of recent times but it does mark something of an upturn in form for Microgaming, a developer that has had a frankly underwhelming 2016 so far. It looks good enough, and the features can be extremely valuable, making this a game that we have no hesitation in recommending. Try it now here on the page, or play for real at any of our recommended Microgaming casinos.
