Frozen Inferno Slot from WMS

When we first lined up this game for review, we were wondering both how an inferno could be frozen and how an inferno could rage if everything is frozen. To be fair, that kind of science is not the kind of thing we should be investigating in a slots review and we will instead take WMS’s word for it that it just works. To be fair, no matter the reasoning, this is a great looking game and one that is sure to catch the eye of players from the moment that they start playing, and if the gameplay holds up we could well be onto a winner.

Forty Lines of Crisp Symbols

WMS often plumps for forty lines of action across four rows of symbols and this game is no different. The symbols themselves do warrant a special mention as they look excellent no matter whether you choose to play in the frozen or inferno versions of the game. Sure, they are only recolours of each other, but they won’t do anything to detract from the great atmosphere on the game. Depending on which game type you go for, the wild card will either be frozen or burning, but it will still lead to the same result of subbing in for anything other than the bonus symbols.

Wild Feature and Free Spins

That wild’s importance continues as part of one of the main gameplay elements of this title, as every spin will see a wild card being place in the centre of the board. They are functionally different too, as the frozen wild will cause all ice symbols to transform into more wilds and freeze in place. They will stay there until you land four at the same time with an ice bonus symbol then launching free spins.

In the inferno version of the game, players will see that their fiery wild will move one position around the board with each spin. You’ll be looking to add more wilds once again using the ‘ride’ symbol and when four are in view, a fire bonus icon will trigger free spins again.

There are no conventional scatters on Frozen Inferno, with the above methods being the only ways to enter the free spins bonus. There is not a set number of spins either, as players will be able to continue throughout the round until they have transformed the entire board into either fire or ice styles. A win will change one reel so players basically have five wins to play through before it is back into the base game.

Frozen Inferno is definitely creative and one of the more unusual games that we have sampled in the WMS range. It is by no means difficult to like it and it is certainly a welcome addition to one of the most impressive gaming ranges around. However, we do feel that some players might be disappointed with the free spins, no matter how often they come around and the best way to find out how it plays for you is of course to give it a try! Do just that on this page with no deposit or download or play for real at one of our featured WMS partner brands.
