Lost Vegas from Microgaming
If you’re the kind of player that frequents land based casinos in your area, particularly those served by Aristocrat, then you may well have seen the official Walking Dead slot game as a new addition to the casino floors. With the official licence already wrapped up, and none of the very latest Aristocrat slots having been released online yet, we’re forced to look elsewhere for our zombie fix. Fortunately, Microgaming’s late-year renaissance continues with the launch of Lost Vegas, which is essentially Walking Dead with all of the familiar characters stripped out. There has been an apocalypse for sure and it is all about the survivors versus the zombies.
Survivors Vs Zombies
The conflict between the living and the dead makes its presence known from the get go on this game, as players can instantly switch between the survivor and zombies modes with a button in the top right corner of the screen. At first, the only difference that you’ll notice is that the themed character symbols switch between humans and zombies, with the playing card icons remaining as they are. However, keep that in mind for later, as the feature does give your choice greater importance. In the meantime, it is well worth pointing out that this is another great 243 ways to win game from Microgaming so the wins will come thick and fast, and you’ll also be on the lookout for the wild card in either mode as that doesn’t change either. It fills in for any symbol on the game except for the toxic scatter.
Undead Fists of Cash and Blackouts
Just as we like it, the bonus features kick off right on the main board and come into play at random. The first involves the zombie fist of cash and could see a zombie taking a swing at the game board. In spite of his offensive approach, he’s actually here to help, as he’ll drop some ill-gotten cash into your balance as he punches. There’s also the Blackout Bonus, where all of the playing card icons are faded out of view, leaving only characters and scatters behind. This feature can only come into play on a losing spin so you’ll only have a maximum of one scatter in view, and if you do then this feature will also trigger the main free spins bonus. You’ll also receive instant cash for any character symbol that remains in view on the board.
Free Spins in Lost Vegas
You can enter this bonus through the Blackout Bonus as noted above, or you might do so with three toxic scatters on the board at the same time. As we said, your choice of zombies or survivors plays a part here too, as your pick earlier on in the game reflects the round that you will play. In survivor mode, you’ll have unlimited spins but the playing card symbols will be removed from the board whenever they land in view. This does make the reels progressively richer, but at the same time it will bring the round closer and closer to the end, as no more spins are possible when no more playing card icons are in play.
In zombies mode, there are also unlimited spins, but this time the zombies have been tasked with infecting the reels. If a zombie lands near a wild card, it will infect the reel and that wild, together with any others that land on the reel, will be stacked from that point onwards. When you reach fifty spins or all reels become infected, the round is over and it’s back to the base game. If you do run the course and finish up on fifty spins, you’ll receive an additional bonus prize for your troubles.
We’ve definitely enjoyed the last couple of Microgaming releases, with Lost Vegas joining Jungle Jim – El Dorado as notable releases that are both worth a closer look. Both games can be played right here at Games Mania for free, so be sure to check them both out as we’re sure that you won’t be disappointed!
