Grim Muerto by Play’n Go

We have mentioned recently that this has been a very good year for Play’n Go in terms of the quality of the new releases and one of the best examples backing up that claim is a game by the name of Grim Muerto. The developer isn’t quite big enough to see its big releases being greeted with lots of fanfare, but this is one title that took players by storm thanks to great graphics and even better features. It is based on the Mexican Day of the Dead celebration which takes place every year and is by no means as grim as it sounds – it really is a celebration and one of the most fun days on the calendar over there.

The game gets things right when it comes to atmosphere thanks to bright symbols and twenty lines of action – which is actually pretty big for a Play’n Go slot. Various skeletal musicians make up the higher value symbols while the guitar is suitably important, acting as the wild card throughout the entire game. Even the playing card icons look pretty good and as soon as you start spinning you’ll notice the highlighted reel. One is chosen at random prior to every spin and if a wild symbol lands on it, it will expand to cover all positions.

Grim Muerto Free Spins

In order to trigger free spins, you’ll be looking to land three book scatters with one each on reels one, three and five. As on 7 Sins, there is a Second Chance feature if you only manage to land two. More skeletal musicians will enter the fray and players will be able to click one to find a cash prize or a third scatter, which will of course trigger the free spins round too. Ten spins are awarded initially and you can grab three, six or ten more by landing one, two or three of the newly added candle scatters. One high value symbol will be used to serve as an additional wild for the duration of the round and the highlighted reels feature gets a little bigger and better as between two and five reels can become part of the feature, vastly increasing the number of potential expanding wilds.

There’s some very solid gameplay in effect here on Grim Muerto and there is no question that the game deserves all of the plaudits that it has received recently. The action is typically first class and the features come together to make for a genuinely compelling experience – and the theme really sets things off too. You can play this game for free right here on this page, and you’ll find Grim Muerto and all of your other Play’n Go favourites on offer for real money play at any of the great casinos listed in the sidebar.
